MUSEVENI DISSMISSES JUDGES THAT RULED UPON CIVILIANS BEING CHARGED IN COURT MARTIAL




 Today 7th feb 2025, HE yoweri Museveni the president of uganda has exercised powers by making changes in the uganda judicial commission by appointing the new deputy chief justice and the new justice of the supreme court,and 21 judges of the court of appeal.

through the state house prees museveni has issued a document indicating changes in the judicial system,"in the exercise of power vested by article142(1)and 2 of the 1995 constitution .the president has made the following appointments in the judiciary" quoted from the press release

this come days after the supreme court had ruled out the trial of civilians in the court martial and orderd for immediate release of all civilians tried in courtmatials however Museveni showed discontent against the supreme court ruling."judges dont rule this country" he wrote on his X handle. and he pledged to ask the attorny general to bring the proposal in parliament to ammend these laws.

thus making him today make some changes in the judicial system dissmissing judges that ruled out on the trying of civilians in the court matial.

exercise of the powers vested in the President by Article 142(1) and (2) of the 1995 Constitution, His Excellency, the President, has made the following new appointments to the judiciary;
